Watchtower were one of the most innovative bands of the modern progressive metal movement influencing countless other bands such as Cynic, Death, Spiral Architecht, Dream Theater and more. The vocals were at times astoundingly high pitched (to a polarizing extent) and the music tended to be more complex than what any group of four people should have been able to pull off. The group reformed after a long period of inactivity to complete the long-in-the-works Mathematics album.
