Technotronic was a Belgian studio-based music project formed in 1988 by Jo Bogaert, who originally gained notoriety in theearly
1980s as part of a cover band and as a solo artist under various New Beat projects, including The Acts of Madmen andNux
Nemo. It has since became synonymous with its monstrous 1989 single "Pump Up the Jam", which broke numerous chartsaround
the globe, and has since been certified silver in France, gold in the UK and Netherlands, and platinum in the US andAustralia. In
2000, after over a decade of activity, Technotronic ended up folding.
