Although The Postal Service is mainly known as Ben Gibbard's (Death Cab For Cutie) electronic side project, it is actually a sort of indie supergroup, featuring, along with Gibbard, members of Figurine, Rilo Kiley, Dntel and Tattle Tale. The core group consists of Ben Gibbard and computer music whiz Jimmy Tamborello. The group's name was named after the way the two artists collaborated.
