Nikki D

Nichelle Strong, better known as Nikki D, was a rapper from Los Angeles. She is known as the first female emcee to sign to Def Jam, and is particularly well known for her single “Daddy's Little Girl”, which topped the US rap chart. Her album of the same name was unfortunately not nearly as successful, and after appearing on a few more release and releasing two more singles, Nikki D then retired from the music scene by 1997. She then went on to work behind the scenes as a label vice president and a marketing manager for the clothing company Phat Fashions, which is the parent company to the popular rap clothing companies Phat Farm and Baby Phat.
