Blue Murder

Blue Murder was the brainchild of guitarist/singer John Sykes, who formed the group in 1988, after being dismissed from Whitesnake. Joining Sykes was drummer Carmine Appice and bassist Tony Franklin. Originally the band was supposed to be fronted byRay Gillen, but after comparing Sykes' vocals to Gillen's, Geffen A&R executive John Kalodner encouraged Sykes to handle the vocal dutieshimself. Blue Murder released their self-titled debut in 1989, and their second album, "Nothin' but Trouble" in 1992. By then, Blue Murder wassuffering from multiple line-up changes, with Sykes staying as the only constant member. As a result, the band broke-up in 1994.
