2NE1 is a South Korean pop girl group founded by YG Entertainment in 2009 as the female counterpart to their massively successful boy group, BIGBANG. Since then, they've become known for their lyrical themes of female empowerment and their creative mix of musical styles from R&B and hip-hop to electronic dance music. Their popularity has also spread outside of Korea, contributing to the "Korean Wave" and attracting the attention of American music moguls and choreographers.Members: Bom, Dara, CL, and Minzy. The name 2NE1 stands for "New Evolution of the 21st Century."
