Tom Waits

Tom Waits' career began in the early 70's, with his first release "Closin' Time", which he wrote most of its material while still serving in the Air Force."During the 70's, Waits combined a lyrical focus on desperate, lowlife characters with a persona that seemed to embody the same lifestyle, which he sang about in a raspy, gravelly voice" - All MusicAs Tom's career progressed into the 80's, he took a more experimental approach to his music, evidently shown in highlight albums such as"Swordfishtrombones" and "Rain Dogs". From there, Waits continued much the same into the 90's, though his music became even more unclassified and experimental. The 1992 album "Bone Machine" is a morbid, sinister nightmare, which has Waits experiment with very dark/depressive music and lyrics.Waits took a 6 year rest from his 1993 album "The Black Rider", before he finally released the late 1999 album "Mule Variations", which was a huge return for him. The album was a hell of a record from start to finish. So far in the new millenium,Tom Waits has released 4 albums, in addition to a three disc compilation album entitled "Orphans: Brawlers, Bawlers &Bastards". His most recent LP, Bad As Me, was released in 2011. https://tomwaits.bandcamp.com/ « hide
