The Pees are a Japanese punk band that first formed in 1987. They soon became known for their prolificity and their humorous
songs, as well as their often bizarre album work. By 1991, however, The Pees became a more serious act, thus eliminating most
of their earlier sense of humor and their strange artwork. This can be argued to be the death of their brief mainstream run, and
by 1993, they weren't even breaking the Japanese Oricon charts. The Pees then disbanded in 1997, although they reunited in
2003, and have been together ever since.
