The News are a long-running all-female Japanese garage punk band that first formed in 1985. Although they went
throughmultiple lineup changes, the band are still considered to be a strong force in the underground Japanese garage scene,
and areseen as a big breakthrough and inspiration to numerous other underground female bands throughout Japan as well.
