The Anniversary formed in the late 90s and went on to sign to Vagrant Records and toured with bands like The Get Up Kids, Braid, and Superchunk. They released their popular debut album, Designing a Nervous Breakdown, in 2000. They moved away from their poppy emo sound for a more traditional rock sound in 2002. They broke up in 2004. In 2008, they briefly re-emerged to release a compliation of B-sides and unreleased songs. They reunited in 2016 for a reunion tour and since have been sporadically active.
