Switch Style was a Japanese hardcore band that formed in 1993. While their early material followed a much more frantic, balls-to-the-wall crossover
thrash style, the group ended up adopting a more melodic, nu metal-esqued style by 1997. Within a fewyears, the band had one of the largest
followings in the Japanese underground circuit, although they ended up disbanding in2001. Bassist Kenzo went on to join the progressive-metalcore
band Kamomekamome, which experienced minor mainstreamsuccess and is widely popular in the Japanese underground. On December 31st, 2008,
Switch Style reunited for one show, opening up for the legendary hardcore band Gorilla Biscuits.
