Sugar Soul was a Japanese R&B/pop trio that formed in 1996. The trio notably had considerable success throughout 1999
and2000 in particular, withtheir 2000 album, "Uzu", reaching number 3 on the Oricon charts, becoming their best-selling release
todate. In 2001, at the height of theirpopularity, Sugar Soul went on a mysterious hiatus before announcing their official
idisbandment in 2003. The only member who went on toimmediately remain active in the music scene was DJ Hasebe, who
became one of the most well known producers and songwriters of the 2000'sJapanese hip hop scene. In 2010, Sugar Soul's
singer Aiko returned as a member of the trio KAM, and also announced that she would resume SugarSoul as a solo project of
hers, which she remains active in today.
