Sista was an R&B group from Virginia that is best known for being the first known act of future rap superstar Missy Elliott.
Formed in 1989 under the name of Fayze, the group wound up changing its name to Sista in 1993, going major by signing to
Elektra Records by the end of the year. Sista then released one single, "Brand New", and one album, "4 All the Sistas Around Da
World", in 1994. Both the single and album had tremendously poor sales, and the album was soon shelved due to such poor

and was also used on the soundtrack for hit movie Dangerous Minds. The Dangerous Minds soundtrack eventually sold over 3
million copies, thus giving Sista somewhat of a pulse. Despite their promising rise in popularity, however, the group wound up
