Sin 34 was an underground hardcore punk band from California that first formed in 1981. They are widely regarded as one of the
first American female-fronted hardcore punk bands in history. In 1984, after only three years of activity, Sin 34 disbanded, and
half of the group went on to immediately form Painted Willie, which was active from 1984 until 1988. In 2008, after nearly three
decades apart, Sin 34 reunited, and were active up until 2012 when bassist Phil Newman passed away from a sailboat accident.
