Shogun (JPN)

Shogun is a legendary Japanese pop/rock band. First formed in 1978 as a session band called One Line Band, they later changed their name to Shogun by early 1979, and had some success throughout 1979, specifically with their single "Otokotachi no Melody", which the group performed live on the legendary show American Bandstand, and the track remains one of the most memorable tracks of the late 70's in Japanese music. Shogun were also critically acclaimed for their smooth, funk/soul inspired sound, although after releasing only three albums, Shogun disbanded in 1980. In 1985, Shogun temporarily reunited, but ended up disintegrating once more by 1986. In 1997, Shogun reunited once more, and have since been quite active.
