Schwarz Stein are a darkwave/electronica visual kei duo from Japan. Formed shortly after vocalist Kaya's previous project
(Isola) split, he gottogether with producer and keyboardist, Hora (ex. Velvet Eden), and decided to start a unique
darkwave/electronic band together. After onlyreleasing two demos, they got the attention of the legendary visual kei figure
Mana (who formed the well known visual kei bands Malice Mizer &Moi dix Mois), and the duo were quickly signed to Mana's label

darkwave/electronic band together. After onlyreleasing two demos, they got the attention of the legendary visual kei figure

"Midi:Nette" in 2002. Schwarz Stein then released two albums, both of whichsold very well in the visual kei underground
scene.However, in 2004, Kaya and Hora decided to end the "Schwarz Stein" project, due todifferences between the two
members. Since then, Kaya has made a humongous name for himself as a solo electronic visual kei artist, whileHora continues to
produce various electronic projects. The duo have reunited twice: once in 2006 for a special limited edition reunion CD, and
once more in 2011, for their 10th anniversary, which was highly publicized. Tickets were even available for purchase overseas
via CDJapan. In February 2014, at the end of his Gothic Elements tour, Kaya announced that Schwarz Stein will definitively
regroup, with the duo resuming activities in March 2014. « hide |
