Potato is an alternative/pop rock band from Thailand that first formed in 1999. Formed when the members were in still in
highschool, the band released their first album, which was self-titled, in August of 2001. The album had modestly decent
sales,although tragedy would strike the young group in October of 2002 when frontman Peechanit Oan-Aaree passed away from
afreak accident involving a short circuiting in a shower, just a month before he was about to turn 21. This put Potato on a
suddenhiatus, although the group returned when guitarist Patchai Pukdesusook took over vocal duties in the summer of 2003.
Underthis lineup, Potato pushed onward, and went on to become one of the most popular bands in their home country
throughout the2000’s.
