Newest Model were a Japanese experimental rock band that formed in 1985. The group was known for its balls-to-the-wall, innovative mixture of punk and psychedelic rock, with a tinge of folk influences surfaced every once in a while. The group split in 1993, and the frontman of the group, Takashi Nakagawa, moved on to form the equally innovative group, Soul Flower Union.
