Mescaline Drive were an all-female Japanese alternative rock band that originally formed in 1984. The group enjoyed a huge underground following during their time together, with their sound being similar to the Western riot grrrl bands of the 90's, more specifically L7 and Babes in Toyland. They were also close collaborators with the influential experimental band, Newest Model. However, despite their impressive underground following, Mescaline Drive ended up splitting in 1993.
