Ketsumeishi are a successful Japanese hip-pop group. Although the group reportedly formed in 1993, it would take them until
1999 to release their first bit of material, which was their "Kotchi Oide" single. In late 2000, Ketsumeishi released its self-titled
debut album independently, which managed to be a slight hit in the mainstream scene, breaking the top 30 on the Oricon charts.
In early 2001, the group went major, and signed with the Toy's Factory label, and, since then, Ketsumeishi sold millions of
records in Japan alone, making them true breakthrough artists within the hip-pop subgenre.
