J.J. Fad is a legendary hip hop group from California that originally formed in 1985. Along with groups like Salt-n-Pepa, J.J. Fad are widely remembered for being one of the first all-female rap groups to garner mainstream attention. J.J. Fad are also the first-ever all-female rap group ever to be nominated for a Grammy award, and were one of the very first hip hop groups to be nominated for one as well. That single, "Supersonic", ended up going gold, as well as their album of the same name. After releasing a few more singles and one more album, 1991's "Not Just a Fad", the group ended up disbanding in 1992. In 2009, however, J.J. Fad reunited, and have had performed a few reunion shows since.
