Illmariachi was a Japanese hip hop duo that formed in 1995. The duo temporarily disappeared by 1998, but resurfaced in 2001
with the release of "Aiming Higher". However, shortly after the release of "Aiming Higher", Illmariachi disbanded. Emcee Tokona-X
went on to start his own solo career, and eventually signed to Def Jam Japan. Tragically, Tokona-X passed away from a cardiac
arrest in late 2004, at the young age of 26.
