El Duce, born Eldon Hoke, was a controversial heavy metal/hardcore punk artist. He is best known for fronting the infamous hardcore band
The Mentors, although he started his own solo career as well in 1989. In 1997, Hoke was tragically killed during an apparent suicide when he
supposedly jumped in front of a train, suspiciously days after claiming he was offered 50,000$ from Courtney Love to kill Kurt Cobain. He was
only 39 years old.
