Da Lench Mob were a West Coast hip hop group associated with Ice Cube. The group's 1992 debut album, "Guerillas in tha Mist", was a huge hit, and
eventually ended up going gold. However, the group's 1994 follow-up album, "Planet of da Apes", was notas successful on the charts, but still
managed to reach number 17 on the Billboard. After numerous internal issues, such asfinancial troubles and a slight lineup change which replaced
original member Jay-Dee with Maulkie after Jay-Dee was sentencedto life in prison, Da Lench Mob finally ended up disbanding in 1995.
