Ciudad is a Filipino indie pop-rock band that formed in 1994. By the late 1990's, Ciudad managed to develop its own niche
following in the underground pinoy scene for their bubbly, at times nonsensical, sound. In 2000, the group signed to Sony BMG,
and released its first album, "Hello! How Are You, Mico the Happy Bear?". While the album wasn't a big commercial seller, it made
Ciudad's cult following reach an all-time high, and their quirky sound became the talk of the Filipino underground. However, the
album's disappointing mainstream performance had Ciudad dropped from the Sony BMG roster, and the group have been
independent since 2002.
