Following an incident that exposed Clarkson as a lip syncher in 1991, her commercial success decreased significantly, and Betty Boo then released one more album, 1992’s “GRRR! It’s Betty Boo”, before retiring the Betty Boo name in 1993. After a brief hiatus, Clarkson, under her real name, returned as a songwriter in 1998 for pop acts like Girl Thing and Hear’Say, including writing the smash hit 2000 single “Pure and Simple”. She later retired from writing songs for girl and boybands, and only writes for a select few artists now, and in 2005, returned as a recording artist as a member of the duo WigWam. In 2007, she made her return as Betty Boo on a collaboration track with electronic artist Jack Rokka. « hide
