Avantasia is the side-project of Edguy singer Tobias Sammet, founded in 1999. Two concept albums were released ('The MetalOpera', 'TheMetal Opera Pt. II'), their structures similar to that of an opera. Both can be classified as power metal and/orsymphonic metal.After the second album, Sammet announced that there would not be any more Avantasia albums. However, in January 2008 athird album wasreleased, titled 'The Scarecrow', followed by two sequels named 'The Wicked Sympony' and 'Angel of Babylon',both released in 2010.In 2013, Sammet once again reanimated the project and released the new album "The Mystery of Time".
