Review Summary: best songs: Without You, Promised Land, Heart filler: Love Me/Hate Me in conclusion - masterpiece!

I've came across this interesting project named Astral Pits. What is actually all about? It is made by unknown producer from Slovenia (i think?:)) who made interesting blend of musical genres (rock, ambient, hip hop) and has created his own sound with female vocals and spitting rap lyrics from Mic Steady. It is stated, that the characters are completely fictional. When you listen to this debut album, you have always this sense of epic feeling inside your head, the arrangements are not boring at all and very catchy. Since this is my first ever review , I will review this album in a track by track order, because it's easier, at least for me:)
So! Let us begin!

1. Loose

The intro draws you in immediately with some cool haunting keyboards fading in until the drums and guitars kick in! This one has a very haunting feel, slightly gothic with female vocals and rapping, the surprise comes after the verse with a Abba-esque like chorus. Definitely my favourite.

2. What I Came For

Not my favorite, but still amazing with some fast drumming and rapping over spicy guitars. This song has more of a dance vibe. The solo is really amazing! It's like 80s all over again!:)

3. Without You

First real ballad on the album and what a ballad it is! Catchy chorus, amazing piano lines, and one of the most original solos I have ever heard since Page. The song has interesting twist near the end breaking new ground with some latino guitar soloing.

4. All Your Sins

If you like bands like Evanescensce or Lacuna Coil, you will like this one! Again, it's very catchy, with heavy guitars and a great solo part.

5. Why?

This one is more of an industrial song, with some crazy effects, heavy guitars, and amazing rap lyrics intertwining with female crescendo:)

6. Just A Little Thing

Another ballad, it's great, but really it sounds pretty much like Without you, but without the acoustic guitar part. Not to my liking

7. Promised Land

This one is my favourite song from the whole album and it is a spectacular one! Completely acoustic with some hot vintage beat in the background, it is a song , that surely should be a summer hit of a season!

8. Love Me/Hate Me

This one really annoys me and it's a filler track for me, shouldn't be on this album...

9. Waves

Now we've reached the ambient part of the album, and from here on thae songs are amazing end epic! This one has more of a Opeth feel to it on beginning but then it explodes into a symphonic destruction!breathtaking!

10.Knees

This song is really sad and calls for melancholy. It sounds like some experimental band from the 80s, it has some nice backing vocals. 80's gothic in one word:)

11.Down

Rap comes in play again with some distorted guitars, epic piano and the only one , i think, without the female vocals. Modern gothic rap, ladies and gentlemen:D

12.Heart

The ending is perfect with this one, epic in all ways, similar to waves, but better. More hauntingly beautiful, with extended solo, even breaking into latino sound again before exploding into symphonic hip hop soundtrack:) my second favourite on the album!

All in all, amazing album, with only one filler! I'm looking forward for the next one;)
