I never really noticed that and even listening now I feel they're similar, but not identical. Soco is a way better song regardless.

Oh and speaking of Soco, isn't it funny how they're actually going to stay 18 forever?
RIP Brand New, 2000-2018
It's interesting how Jesse prophesied future events surrounding himself and the band, unbeknownst to him at the time of writing the song. There's what I just typed above, and then 'Lit Me Up' openly talks about him burning like a witch - then, he goes down as part of the #metoo movement, which many detractors referred to as "a witch hunt." It actually sort of gives me chills.
Yeah, I burned like a witch in a Puritan town
It lit me
It was a good dream
If he was writing about a dream in which he got exposed for his actions, that last line makes it sound like he wanted it to happen because it would be a burden lifted, and he could finally move on from his guilt. If that's what this song is actually about (I am probably wrong), then that's incredible.

Yeah given like that this album feels like a funeral or eulogy at times (wasn’t there like an upside down cross made of roses image sort of tied in with the album?) And that they announced this was their last year already, it was like Jesse knew about all the controversy that would happen before it happened. crazy

I really want to write a blog piece about that song now but I'd probably get flamed.

Who cares sowing, people are so sensitive.
Also I remember talking to you about the "omg this is going to be TBS's Daisy" moment back when el paso dropped lol

I still love Me v Maradona - lyrically, yeah now in hindsight kinda weird. BUT still dig that song hard

That was you?! Nice haha

Maybe Jesse feels being “burned like a witch” is the punishment he deserves for his actions? I say write it.

legitimately must be one of the few people who loves the TBS s/t, sad savior and this is all now rule hard

Album Rating: 4.4
Sad Savior is legitimately fantastic, This is All Now and Falling are decent as far as the basic requirements for catchiness go. In every other way it's easily their worst, just a painfully obvious label mandated throwback trying to appeal to their old pop punk fans (which is their worst era as a band in general) with all these milquetoast half assed songs. I'll take New Again any day

Am I the only one getting this security certificate expiration warning for this site? I literally had to download a different browser on my phone to get on here today

Yep, its annoying.
Speaking of Maradona, I always saw that song being from the point of view of a character, not Jesse. At least until the shitstorm occurred.
