Anneke van Giersbergen (ex-The Gathering vocalist) has posted news on the Agua de Annique website with details on her collaboration with Devin Townsend. It turns out that they’re collaborating on songs for the upcoming Agua de Annique album as well as having Anneke van Giersbergen record vocals for Devin Townsend’s new album. From Anneke herself:
Here I am in Canada, working with Devin Townsend for our new album and... for his new album (Addicted) as well. A very interesting week indeed.
Though we had the idea of doing something together we had no specific thoughts yet, only the distinct feeling that we would hit it off because of mutual respect for one another and a nice phone conversation :-)
I came up here with a blank piece of paper and good faith in my suitcase and we were right, we're doing some great stuff here!
In the daytime we record vocals for Devin's album. He pretty much knows what needs to be done so I am at his service to provide him with the necessary vocal stuff. In the evenings we jam, write new songs and demo them for my new album. It's a classic case of win-win don't you think?
I am shooting all this good stuff for our weekly video blog at the Agua VIP Area of our website. We'll put a new video up today for you with some nice footage of this past weeks shows and the first day in Devin's studio. Next week you'll be able to watch the further progress that we're about to make here in beautiful Canada.
Hello dear friends,
It's been one hell of a week. As you may know, I was in Canada, writing and recording with Devin Townsend. Forgive me if I speak too much about it :-), but that was absolutely a great experience. He's one of the best musicians I have ever met and a very nice and genuine person as well. We recorded lots of vocals for his new album Addicted and together we wrote four songs for my upcoming album. Let me tell you in all modesty: It's gonna be marvy!!!
Maybe they’ll even let him play bass on their album!
This makes me more excited for both albums.

I've only recently been getting into his stuff. So far i have City, Ocean Machine and Terria and all three are fantastic. I think i'll get Ki next
this seems like it could be cool...mordecai, check synchestra and accelerated evolution by the devin townsend band...shit rules...
will do. Is Ziltoid worth checking out?
cant wait for addicted. hope it is a good as ki
yeah ziltoid is really good, but try not to compare it to his other works
great news, anyone know who did the female vocals on Ki?
Ziltoid is pretty bad whether or not you compare it to anything else or not.
The female vocalist is Ché Dorval.
Check her out here: http://www.myspace.com/chedorval
Ziltoid isnt meant to take seriously i dont think. its about an alien who comes to earth for coffee..... i love Devin's music and i dont mind Ziltoid but its not surprising that a lot of people dont like that album
Dorval has a great voice
never heard her sing, she good?

She's really good and she has a unique voice too.
Ooo, that is definitely going to be an extra treat for Devin's new album.
