Competition: Flipper Discography

2009-05-18 by Dave de Sylvia EMERITUS | 16 Comments
Legendary San Francisco punks Flipper release both a new studio album, Love, and a live CD, Fight on May 19, and to coincide with the release we've got prize packs containing the band's CD catalogue to give away.

The albums were recorded in 2008 with producer Jack Endino, during former Nirvana bassist Krist Novoselic's two-year stint with the band. That came to an end late last year when Novoselic left, citing family commitments. The group's difficulties with bass players once prompted frontman Bruce Loose to observe: "[it's] like Spinal Tap, except the bass player keeps dying."

The band have made an MP3 of 'Be Good Child,' the lead single from Love, available for free download ahead of release.

We've got three CD prize packs to give away, and this includes:

Love - CD (2009)
Fight – CD (2009)
Sex Bomb Baby! - CD (1988)
Public Flipper Ltd (Live 80-85) - CD (1986)
Gone Fishin’ - CD (1984)
Generic Flipper - CD (1982)

To enter, simply send your full name and the answer to our very difficult question to sputnikreviews@gmail.com.

What is the name of Flipper's new live CD?

The deadline for entry is midnight EST on Thursday, May 28. Winners will be selected at random.

oh you havent listened to flipper yet? theyre amazing in my opinion, but they can be hard to get into. there aren't very many bands that sound like them, and they don't have a very accessible sound - or a very easy to define sound.
