We The Kings vs. Philly cops
2009-04-27 by RyanMeDrumz | 34 Replies | 4135 Views

From indiestar.tv:

The Bamboozle Roadshow made its stop in Philadelphia on Sunday, April 26th. Later that night, some type of drama erupted between Philly's "finest" cops and pop rockers, We The Kings and Forever the Sickest Kids. Word of the incident was ironically reported on the social network status updater, Twitter, in real-time.

We The Kings singer Travis Clark quoted on his Twitter profile, "Philadelphia cops just beat us up for nothing! Chris V is bleeding from his head, every cop is completely abusing their power!! This is so messed up! There is nothing worse then a friend asking you for help & knowing you can't do anything about it cause 5 cops are standing in front of you."

Mercy Mercedes bassist Tommy Donahue typed in on his Twitter, "Ian, tech for FTSK has been released. Pray for Chris V and T-Fair from WTK crew."

WTK bassist Drew Thomsen ended the Twitter night with stating, "F*ck philly cops!!! Oink oink drop dead polesmokers!"

So what was the source of all this drama, Brendan from Valencia wrote in his blog, "They wanted the bands to move their busses and vans, even though they weren’t finished loading up."

Here's a video of the incident:

I never really gave their music a shot 'cause I felt it was a poorman's All Time Low, but I really hope those cops go down.

I live about 15 minutes from Philly and the police there are pretty bad. The police in my area are awful too. My friend and I were at a 7-11 sitting on the curb in front of the store just drinking soda and a cop pulls up and starts talking to us and then asks us if we're up to no good or somethin. We told him no cause we weren't and then he gets really angry out of nowhere and says "Well i'm not so sure of that I have a feeling I should arrest your asses" so then we calmly tried to explain to him like normal people that we are sitting down and drinking soda and he ended up taking our information and giving us a warning for literally nothing. cyaThis Message Edited On 04.27.09

Heard about this. It's absolutely ridiculous what cops can get away with. Hope these jerk-offs do go down.

they aren't even real cops. this reminds me of Observe & Report (the superior mall cop movie with Seth Rogen) where he beats the fuck out skateboarders in the parking lot.

It's amazing how some cops act. Some of them are just bouncers with badges. A bunch of big, fat guys with superiority complexes.

I think what pissed me off most about this is that they were all bicycle cops and wore those gay little helmets the whole time.

It is complete and utter horse s*** to say there was not police brutality!!! Take a look at THIS video and then you try to explain how 30 stitches and 14 staples to the head does not consitute brutality for someone who had their arms behind their back!!

Yet when there is a guy with a gun in your neighborhood, who has to go and deal with it? Granted, there are a few cops who abuse their power, but for the ones who don't, they put their lives on the line for everyday people like you and me.

hahaha, my friends and i are from northeast philly. those who know the area know the northeast is ight. so one day my friends and i got pretty uppity on aderall, and we took a train to suburban station. we then wandered into some rundown section of southwest philly, and the cops stopped us and tried getting us for using ecstasy. it was a very amusing time.
