The Gathering Release 4th Song

2009-04-09 by Trey STAFF | 7 Comments
The Gathering have just made a fourth song from The West Pole available to stream. This time they have opted to not place it on Myspace because Myspace "only provide[s] poor quality mp3s." Instead the new song (No Bird Call), plus the three released earlier this month are all located at the band's personal website "with a quite higher quality than the myspace player."

The album is set to be released on May 5th and will include the following tracks:

01. When Trust Becomes Sound
02. Treasure
03. All You Are
04. The West Pole
05. No Bird Call
06. Capital Of Nowhere
07. You Promised Me A Symphony
08. Pale Traces
09. No One Spoke
10. A Constant Run

I was kinda bored with this, to be quite honest...maybe I should give it another listen.

Your not the only one, it takes a few listens to figure out where the band is going on many of the songs and I am still not convinced that Pale Traces is that great. However nearly everything else rewards close attention. This is one of those albums which you can't really judge until the third or fourth listen. This Message Edited On 04.10.09

Exactly, I wasn't too fond of it the first time through, and I think the first half of the album is weaker than the second half, but as a whole I think it's a fantastic album.

I think the first half is much better than the second. Some of the later songs just sound like lesser rehashes of the earlier ones.
