Beherit releasing new album. 2009-04-08 by Hyperbore | 8 Replies | 1043 Views |
After nearly fourteen years of musical silence, iconic Finnish black metal/ambient project Beherit returns with an album of all-new material. Set for release on April 9, this is a return to the band's roots, largely eschewing the later ambient tendencies in order to return focus on ritualistic black metal.

beherit is fucking amazing, drawing down the moon is one of my favorite black metal albums ever. i'd like to reference my description of them from a list i made:
"hypnotic trance-inducing black metal that makes you want to conduct funeral processions with goats and shit like that"

'Drawing Down the Moon' is fantastic. There's no way this album will top that, but from the samples on Amazon it still sounds great.

just got the album, it's pretty good

I haven't heard the album yet, but it sounds like a grower.

donno if it's fair to call them 'black metal/ambient' because honestly the ambient shit was just the one dude getting bored and doing random shit while he tried to put a band together amirite or amimakingthisup?

No, you're right about the last two albums before this; they were by the frontman alone. They were still released under the Beherit name, however, and 'Drawing Down the Moon' was basically ambient music in a black metal format.
