Outer South, the new album from Conor Oberst and the Mystic Valley Band, is streaming at the Merge Records website. Outer South, due out on May 5th, is the Nebraskan's second album with his Mystic Valley Band and the first to feature songs written and sung by his band-mates.
this is really good. also, why is it that editing news articles makes the formating go to shit?
Hasn't happened to me when I edit. Walk past a black cat recently? This Message Edited On 04.07.09
it was my browser... apparently sputnik isnt too fond of Chrome.
Chrome is still Beta, give it some time
Yerrr, Safari 4 beta.
But let's not discuss this.
the self titled had like 2 good songs so my hopes are not too high. but those two songs (the first one and the last one) were amazing.
best thing this guys ever done was prob wide awake morning or four winds ep
I thought he was Bright Eyes, why's he doing solo stuff?
It's actually with a different band so he separates it.
this is pretty good. Nothing spectacular but solid.
self-titled was one of my favourite albums for about half a year.
i really liked his first solo album but after listening to this im not terribly impressed. he took out the country flair that gave his debut such a great sound but this is nothing great
yeah halfway through and it's just not as good. dibs on this review.
More importantly - the tour dates!!! I'm so happy that I saw this news I've been loving Conor and Bright Eyes for about a year now, so I'm happy to see that they're actually coming through this time around!
I'm actually cool with Conor Oberst staying with the solo stuff instead of Bright Eyes. Its a very viable direction for him to head.
Mike Mogis makes a more solid record, but The Mystic Valley Band is damn fun.
cant wait for this album, they put on a great live show if you ever get the chance
also wtf is that different eagle on a pole. horrible :S
Going to see them in June

Actually after this tour, he's working on another Bright Eyes album. I don't care though cause I like Mystic Valley Band and Bright Eyes just the same.
