Cryogen Offer Up Free EP 2009-02-18 by Dave de Sylvia EMERITUS | 6 Comments | Colorada death metallers Cryogen have released their new EP, entitled Psalms Of Deceit, for digital download on the 'pay what you want' model.
Spoke the band: "We are offering our fans the opportunity to pay what they want for our new EP. That includes paying nothing. We’re leaving that decision up to each individual, and we’re happy to be the first extreme metal band to do that.
"We feel that this is the future of music distribution and that there is no better time to do this than right now. While record labels sit in fear of losing sales to piracy, we believe it’s up to independent bands, like Cryogen, to help pave a new way of distributing music."

As a pirate I love and respect when bands do this...however for independent bands, this kind of kickass move could end in financial troubles. Then again, this move is likely to increase the bands fanbase, as the article itself has me wanting to see what they're all about.

| | | Yeah, this is surprisingly solid, they have a lot of energy. And six tracks on an EP is pretty nice.
