excellent news

they're probably going to keep going down their "progressive" road, which is bad because all of their heavier stuff slays their windy acoustic/electric "progressive" passage shitThis Message Edited On 05.28.08

stole the words right from my mouth

good news, cant wait blood mountain still stays in heavy rotation in my cd player so i cant wait for a follow up
|

Awesome news, Blood Mountain kicked ass, so did Leviathan & Remission. I'm definitely gonna get hold of this when it comes out
|
| |
I guess I'm the only ones that think these guys are stupid overrated. Oh well. I'm happy for those who like them.
|
| |
I like Leviathon but in my opinion Blood Moutain owns the hell out of it. Looking forward to hearing the new stuff down the road.
|
| |
theironweasel, i used to think these guys were 'stupid overrated' but after many listens i've grown to really like mastodon
|
| |
cool beans...should be some awesomeness...
|
| |
I suppose your correct, the best tastes are always acquired, maybe I'll give them another shot.
|
| |
This time Brendan O'Brien, not Matt Bayles,
Besides O'Brien's contributions to rock and grunge back in the day, he had better not streamline Mastodon's sound into commercial shit!
|
| |
Wizard, I heart how all of your posts end with an exclamation point!
Also, cool.
|
| |
About time. I have high hopes for this...

Its what I do when I get worked up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

O'Brien has done a lot of Bruce Springsteen stuff recently. Mastodon are trying to bring in a little of that E Street Shuffle.
|
| |
Finally...
|
| |
I'll be interested on whether they try and perfect the route they have taken over the last two albums, or if they will switch gears and produce something different.
|
| |
should be good. Leviathan is their best album IMO, there were some boring bits on Blood Mountain
i heard it's going to be about space... hopefully a better concept than BM's concept...
i liked Leviathan's concept much much more.

Ah, Intransit, you always know just what to say...
On a side note, k. I'm not gonna make any pre-judgements, but this could be sweet.

they're probably going to keep going down their "progressive" road, which is bad because all of their heavier stuff slays their windy acoustic/electric "progressive" passage **** Actually, in an interview with the drummer about 2 months ago Mastodon said the songs they've been writing are "heavier than expected" and closer to the sound of Remission as opposed to Blood Mountain. Still exciting no matter what they decide to do.
|
| |
this is good news....yes, yes.
|
| |
wheee Mastodon wheee
|
| |
was never able to really get into these guys, but really, I've wanted to. I started with Blood Mountain which was probably a bad idea, where's a better place, remission?
|
| |
def. remission
|
| |
finally, i was wondering when this band will be recording their next album.
|
| |
Awesome news, I just hope they don't become mainstream because of the whole major label thing, as well as O'Brien producing.
|
| |
Can't bloody wait.
|
| |
Blood Mountain was great but it wasn't as good as Leviathan. Still, this should be very good indeed.
