Bossk announce .4 compilation

2024-03-13 by Ashtiel | 3 Comments
British post-metal band Bossk have announced their next release, .4 following on from their return with 2021's Migration and the release of "Kobe x Pijn", a reimagining of one of the band's own songs in collaboration with Manchester-based contemporaries Pijn.

.4 largely continues in the direction of this collaborative spirit the band have embraced on Migration, featuring re-recorded collaborative versions of older material, alongside re-worked versions or original studio recordings for past songs. .4 arrives May 10th on Deathwish Inc.

With the announcement of the release, the band have shared "Truth II", featuring vocals from Dubai-based composer Sheenagh Murray, who the band discovered via a cover of their track "Truth" on Murray's Instagram.

Some words from the band about the new song:

"When we heard Sheenagh's version, it completely changed our idea for 'Truth II', and we practically wrote the song around the vocals she had done and just kept adding elements as we went," said Bossk of the track. "The original version of 'Truth' is a hugely important song to us, it felt like such a progression from the first 2 songs we had released and was in our live set for many shows in the early years.

"We recorded this new edition of the song with Joe Clayton in Manchester and was such a great experience getting to come up with a completely new version of the song with him. A slightly unknown fact about this song is that it is named in part to the Halo mission titled 'Truth and Reconciliation' with the second element already written for the next full-length album we have planned for 2026. Stay tuned for its sequel…"
