I think the worst thing about this is that the guy's sitting on 30 years worth of material that he insists "isn't ready" but will only get more and more dated with each passing year.

I am actually pretty excited for this and I think the music clips sound awesome. Also, I give Jari credit for making videos like this to promote Wintersun music. Metal bands don't make much money as it is, so if this works for them, then great! If you don't think it's worth the price, then don't buy it haha. People complain and cry about everything on here.

Production sounds better to me than Time I because it isn't under a billion layers of synth orchestra, the orchestral rightfully is in the back supporting the guitars which are more present. it's just barely the end of winter in finland so it technically is still a winter sum

in the time it has taken jari to put this together he has been surpassed by countless bands at his own game and i guarantee though time ii will be a decent record it will sound dated from day 1 of release.

additionally his behaviour is just ridiculous. there are countless other bands making albums with the same audio quality with nothing compromised in regular studios - he uses fluff to his fans to try and exude that he this extraordinary musician due to the amount of tracks he uses in his stems (to those who make music you'll know having 150 tracks is just bad DAW management) for the purpose of fooling them into investment. it's just dishonest and gross.

the only real way i can see the investment being worthwhile is if he allows his studio to be used by other musicians but that absolutely won't occur. he's a great guitarist and his melodic ear is superb but he is not a good audio engineer - repeatedly on his mixes he buries things thinking others can hear them because he's familiar with them. amateur mistake. what's the point in 150 tracks when realistically in a finished wav you can only hear about 9 due to the mix?

further if the orchestral side of things with the amount of tracks was the problem can someone ask jari to kindly explain how he's been able to use an orchestral backing track to perform 'the way of the fire' for the last 8+ years? the only thing that mix would be missing is live rock instrumentation and considering a recent interview showed that the drums were recorded 10+ years ago and recording guitar and bass could have absolutely been done in a day. the problem was never money - the problem was jari.

for the record trisagion was pretty expensive to make and i had to source money from a variety of places - the label fronted, say, 10% of the bill and the rest i made up elsewhere but with jari being on nuclear blast he'd have had no shortage of investment. if i asked my label to buy me a mac pro they'd tell me to fuck off lol.

the funny thing is i was encouraged by people around me to crowdfund trisagion but i refused on principle.

trisagion wasn't really self-produced either - though i wrote all the music (save the drums, bass and viola) i had a lot of outside help to make it what it is. there's nothing there jari couldn't have done. if he hopped into swano's studio for a week he'd have had the album completed and probably in higher quality too.
