Catch my vibe I'm about to ignite
As our chemicals collide
(I can't wait to fix ya)
I'm speaking to the aura
As static drowns out tortured sounds
No pulse, no fucking feeling
Strangled into submission
By a cruel hand
Why can't you just believe in me?
Catch my vibe I'm about to ignite
As our chemicals collide
Turn me into someone I don't recognize
An empty coronet, a compromise
I'm fighting all this anger I've internalized
Am I just a piece of your property?
Manipulated, constricted nerves
Manipulated, this isn't what I dеserve
(I can't wait to fix ya)
Is therе a final destination?
(I can't wait to fix ya)
Are you searching for control?
(I can't wait to fix ya)
Is there a final destination?
(I can't wait to fix ya)
Watch another spark explode
I grieve in retrospect
Oscillating gears of dread
My fear breeds new consequences
I'm burning at both ends
In a brain dance
Static drowns out tortured sounds
No pulse, no fucking feeling
Your own Ship of Theseus
Whatever gets you there
Rip out the heart
Strip me for parts
An endless experiment

ok, let's see
|
| |
This really isn't doing what I want it to do.
Electronic shit is disjointed and sitting in the back of the mix rather than intertwining/bolstering the chugga chug, and by god there is a lot of chugga chug that needs some embellishment.
Flat recording, random overly indulgent clean section that doesn't fit in at all.
Competing with Echo Chamber for the worst IndustrialLane song.
|
| |
putney and this band continue to be one of the poorest producer/band pairings out there. neither benefit each other in any way
not that thisd be good either way lmao shit is a mess
|
| |
I really enjoyed both these tracks. Dante is definitely superior but interested to see where they go next.
|
| |
chuggy snoozefest
|
| |
5 songs, takes 3 months to release. ok.
|
| |
Band is cooked
|
| |
Why you gonna let a superior vocalist do a feature on your own EP? Winston runs laps around NL's vocalist with just one verse and a chorus.
|
| |
"putney and this band continue to be one of the poorest producer/band pairings out there. neither benefit each other in any way

Pretty sure these guys haven't worked with Putney since like Node. This and Obsidian was handled by their guitar player Jon in his home studio. Either way it's not really great production.
|
| |
FWIW: there are 6 songs and the track list is:
Mirrors Edge
Afterimage
Miasma
Let me disappear
Kraft
Dante
|
| |
obsiddy was self produced but putney did this
|
| |
May check this. Northlane seems to be one of the few Djent bands that I actually enjoy a little bit.
|
| |
song is okay.
|
| |
@chuck - no he was definitely involved in this EP
|
| |
Man, Northlane is speedrunning their descent into mediocrity huh
|
| |
Miasma is a fitting name for this stinky pile of garbage
|
| |
pretty lame and boring, Winston sounded really good tho
|
| |
Sounds about right
|
| |
Will Putney just doesn't work with this band
|
| |
I stand corrected and yeah, this band hasn't captivated me in years.
|
| |
this isn't worth messing up my youtube algorithm for
|
| |
At first I thought the guitars sounded a bit flat and muted, then I realized the bass player is doing nothing but chugging along with the guitars. Snoozefest.
|
| |
One of the worst bands making music rn
|
| |
Lmao
|
| |
not helping with the whole aussie metalcore being shit are we northlane.
|
| |
I like the song but the mix is just insufferable once again. What were all of them thinking releasing these songs sounding like that
|
| |
Gave Obsidian a try once and I endured for only about three songs and since then I try with all my might to forget about that torture. Miasma at least didn't make me suffer.
|
| |
Obsidian is a fantastic record lmao, what are you on
|
| |
yeah obsiddy is like the only marcuslane project that doesnt suck lmao
|
| |
If Obsidian isn't bad, I guess it's good for me that I avoided their other stuff. Checked out the new song only because of McCall anyway.
|
| |
Dante grew on me in a big way. I don't think this one will do the same.
|
| |
Nah, as a fan of all their previous releases I couldn't make it through Obsidian either. This here is a slight step up again.
|
| |
Literally everyone has a different Northlane opinion of their sounds
|
| |
Obsidian is the band's best record, but you're not ready for that convo, fellas
|
| |
correct northlane opinion;
first 2 albums - relentless headache inducing bottom of the barrel chugchug nonsense, even worse than meshuggah
node, mesmer - literally just metalcore with the occasional cool texture
alien, obsidian - perfection
this shit - like if skinwalkers replaced the band and tried replicating alien and obsidian without understanding what made those releases tick
|
| |
At last, a man of culture.
|
| |
I actually felt that way about their first two at first also and wrote the band off but then it just clicked (like Meshuggah) and now I love everything they do
|
| |
Oh man those lyrics lmao. Winston sounds monstrous tho
|
| |
frozenfirebug more like stinkynerd lmao!
|
| |
putney is the worst producer in metalcore
|
| |
Fun song, good song
|
| |
man this band has changed so much since their first few albums, and not for the better in my opinion, at what point do you change the band name, not a fan, but music is subjective
|
| |
They are waaaaay more interesting nowadays, glad they managed to steer away from most djent tropes.
|
| |
you mean the progcore tropes that they helped pioneer? lol
|
| |
Exactly.
|
| |
They still are pioneering this subgenre tbh whether you like it or not. Lots trying to sound like them
|
| |
i thought obsidian and alien were both fun and enjoyable for what they were. this is just awful.
|
| |
cant wait.
|
| |
such prog very core
dun dun dun dun jun, dun dun dun dun jun, dun dun dun dun jun, dun dun dun dun jun, dun dun dun dun jun, dun dun dun dun jun, dun dun dun dun jun, dun dun dun dun jun, dun dun dun dun jun, dun dun dun dun jun, dun dun dun dun jun, dun dun dun dun jun, dun dun dun dun jun, dun dun dun dun jun, dun dun dun dun jun, dun dun dun dun jun, dun dun dun dun jun, dun dun dun dun jun, dun dun dun dun jun, dun dun dun dun jun
