Approaching peak boomer

Those YouTube comments are sad lol. Perfect write up
|
| |
Christ.
Absolute shocker.
|
| |
It's true, I also hear the band.
|
| |
i heard the band once, that was enough for me
|
| |
this isnt bad. verse is boring but that pre chorus is kinda money, and the edge being audible for the first time in a decade is rad to see
|
| |
dads around the world are rejoicing
|
| |
Their first album is from 1980.
|
| |
By God, what a microwaved week-old turd this is. And why is the chorus almost exactly like Blondie´s 'Call Me'?
|
| |
I mean Bono does sound and look good ngl
But yeah I got Call Me vibes as well as soon as the chorus hit
|
| |
From 1980-1987 this band was untouchable. Yeah, the chorus to this definitely is from "Call Me," though.
|
| |
“And why is the chorus almost exactly like Blondie´s 'Call Me'?”
Because it ties in with ‘Atomic’ ya div.
Regardless song is complete gash.
|
| |
Ah shit we got a thinker in the house
|
| |
debbie has a credit so the blondie thing is like an intentional homage or smth but id still obv prefer if bono had written a chorus here lmao
|
| |
they're doing a residency at that Sphere in vegas. the videography inside the curved dome looks pretty sick ngl
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V-SqberQ2d0
|
| |
Surprised by the quality of the track. Hard not to think of "Call Me" as others have said.
|
| |
"One reviewer states that "I think the producing is spot on. I hear the band.", which is definitely a good sign."
LMAO
|
| |
kinda bizarre to make a real song which references a current residency?
guitars sounded nice, drums were, as lars would put it, stock, bono still has a great voice
|
| |
artwork clearly takes inspiration from this

sucks
|
| |
Laughable
Absolutely bloody abysmal, I can’t sit through it.
|
| |
the edge
|
| |
Who the fuck wants a new U2 song
|
| |
footage of them at the vegas sphere is pretty cool
|
| |
The best part was the the few seconds from Zoo station near the beginning, downhill fast after that!
|
| |
Why do these boomer bands lose all sense of visual artistry. There are a few exceptions, but jfc these old bands come up with some of the most atrocious, amateurish album artwork these days. The single art for APC’s So Long And Thanks For All The Fish comes to mind, compare that to the incredible album layouts of their first 2 records. Same with bands like Alice Cooper with Welcome 2 My Nightmare, they see this hideous photoshop nonsense and say “looks good!” Idk if it’s because theyre out of touch or they just happened to get lucky before.
Idk man. Autistic rant over
|
| |
"U2 go Atomic"
They need to go retire
|
| |
shit song, not surprising from the musical equivalent of a prostate exam.
|
| |
Now that's a comparison nobody needed to hear.
|
| |
yeah yeah yeah yeah
|
| |
Haven’t heard the song, but i agree that the Vegas Sphere footage is tight. Shit’s like magic
|
| |
The last decent work was How To Dismantle an Atomic Bomb.
|
| |
no line on the horizon >>> htdaab and atyclb
|
| |
sunday bloody sunday is the only U2 song i'll listen to. sweet riff.
|
| |
how much have you heard?
|
| |
The Sphere footage of 'Where the Streets Have No Name' was staggering. Ultimate band and song to justify the arena's existence and its scale.
Anyway, this single is... fine. One of the livelier pieces they have done in a decade.
|
| |
song is inoffensive, but very boring. Not sure why everyone just blindly hates U2. Because of South Park and the iTunes shit? Plenty of worse music out there, and a lot of their early stuff was fantastic. idk, bad song but I dont understand the wide sweeping hatred of the band
|
| |
Some reasons for the hate.
Bonos sanctimonious attitude
The band becoming so detached
The grandstanding
The complete self unawareness
The complete sense of self importance
The corporate side of things
The self endorsement
The majority of stuff released for the past 30yrs is drek
Their supposed inclusion among the greats of Rock n Roll without any of the bite
|
| |
Auchtung Baby is one of the greatest albums of all time though and the Zoo TV tour was absolutely revolutionary.
|
| |
"the edge"
think he now goes by the name "Theedge"
|
| |
eedgy
|
| |
why would anyone listen to anything they have put out since Zooropa?
|
| |
as if pop doesnt whip ass
|
| |
Song is dull and forgettable. Agree about the artwork. Yikes. U2 from 1980 - 1991 are pretty untouchable though, and Pop is great too.
