I just started spinning these guys last week for the first time in years and now this news... the universe is weird.

Mild Era Vulgaris vibes which... is not exactly my favorite QOTSA album. But I'm happy it's not going to be another "QOTSA experiments with shitty production" album

Jon Theodore is a beast of a drummer but, unfortunately, they aren't using nothing close to his potential.

Song's OK; on a first listen thought it sounded like a cross between Era Vulgaris and Lullabies.

Better than anything on Villains though, which is a good way to start.

Yeah it's in a limbo space for me where I don't dislike any of it but I also didn't feel like I needed to finish the song. Good parts, not enough progression.

It's an improvement over Villains and it does recall some pre-LC stuff which is nice, but I do hope the album has some more bombastic stuff on it. Anyway, I look forward to the album.

Silverchair's song of the same title is 100x better. But to be fair, it's also Silverchair's absolute best song imo.

Villains had Fortress which makes it okay, but I fucking hated the production on that one

Reminds me a lot of Lullabies but then that chorus is totally different. Don't really like it but it might grow on me

Ain't listened to this yet, but Theodore's performance across Like Clockwork is fucking great, sometimes a chained beast can be quite an interesting ploy

Pretty meh song overall but of course i'll judge it all once the album is fully out. Least like everyone said, the production is very good though which will help immensely.

Villains came too soon after Clockwork which is their opus in a lot of newer fans eyes and was inferior to it but its aged pretty nicely. Josh was also fucking hammered at most of the gigs in that time, I saw them on that tour and they ended their set after 45 minutes cause Josh was too fucked up and I think right before or after is when he kicked that photographer

They built up Villains by releasing the worst song How Do You Do Rooty Tooty Too Why Do You Do so I am hoping that's the same case here, although this song ain't nowhere near as bad

Kinda weak, song doesn't build momentum or anything, and I think the production is very mediocre. Verse reminds me way too much of 'My Sharona' in places.
