double trouble
|
| |
Their latest output has managed to reach towering heights of boredom never before experienced by humankind, yet I am still weirdly enthusiastic about this. King Gizzard and the Chili Peppers...
|
| |
Im sorry.. how does king giz fit into thiz?
|
| |
@conesmoke By way of their habit to release at least 2-3 albums per year.
|
| |
Damn i was hoping for some rando as fk collab
|
| |
Can’t wait to not listen to it!
|
| |
Can this band just fucking stop already?
|
| |
I really hope the artwork has at least a bit of quirky meaning for the music
|
| |
I've had enough of this
|
| |
i actually enjoyed the new one so hopefully this is as good.
|
| |
Hmm very interesting but I think I will instead listen to some albums not made by convicted sex offenders
|
| |
its good for any band to be active even if you hated the last album, bands make better records, usually if they perform a lot together.
|
| |
Convicted sex offenders??
|
| |
I for one am excited to catch em on tour

I don't get it. It is just the first double album and there will be another one? Unlimited love is not a double LP right?
|
| |
They took it as a double LP per se, double vinyl. So this new one might be another single (1 CD) album.
|
| |
like what SOAD did before
|
| |
Yeah the new one is a single album. There's a leaked tracklist that shows 17 new tracks.
|
| |
"Double vinyl"...it is 2022 and we measure things in vinyl?
|
| |
@Kompy Anthony also straight up admits to raping someone and enjoying it in his memoir too
Sad that shit like this is not public knowledge lol
Was only interested in the last one because of Frusciante and he made no impact whatsoever so this is the hardest of passes
|
| |
band should've stopped after californication [3]
|
| |
[4]
|
| |
By the Way is their best album though.
|
| |
reported lightandglass for trolling
|
| |
By The Way has some really great songs but overall idk
|
| |
Unlimited Love was also a double LP according to them. So the idea is this new album is another double LP, despite being another 17 songs like Unlimited Love. So 34 total songs in one year.
|
| |
Everything this band has ever done has been Red Hot Chili Trash
|
| |
they should leave these new albums Can't Stop. you'd think they'd slow down on these releases but they just Under the Bridge
|
| |
I love BTW but it's a Frusciante-fest so I'm all about it. It hooked into me hard and I think it's their best. Stadium Arcadium has some great songs but a lot of filler or butt songs like Dani California and Snow. Stopping after BTW or maybe a cut down version of SA would've been the move.
|
| |
come see my new band, the blue cold onions. we're from new england and love to show it in our music!
|
| |
Eh I have tickets to see them in Vegas in a few weeks, willbe nice to John back on guitar.
|
| |
If "double album" means two vinyl records than literally every album this band has put out since 1990 has been a double album lmfao, although I guess stadium would be more like a quadruple album
Yet another reason I'll always prefer 80s peps (though if I ever willingly listen to a full album from this band again it WILL be a cry for help and I WILL need someone to do a wellness check)
|
| |
It will be when you're in a nursing home and your neighbor is jamming it and they don't check on you for 10 hours.
|
| |
Sadly your neighbor also didn't want to hear it either and died of frustration after 10 minutes.
|
| |
Fuck the ticket prices for this band.
|
| |
Yipee. Another album I'm not gonna listen to.
|
| |
band should've stopped after californication [5]
Everything after that album has ranged from mediocre to horrible so far. And given the last album, I get the feeling that even John won't be able to change things
|
| |
this is gonna be fuckin poop
|
| |
Unlimited Love was great. Froosh was great on it too, his playing is just way more subtle than people are used to.
|
| |
I have learned so much about this band today. Very sad.

Kiedis got raped by Cher when he was a kid in David Geffens house. Patterns of abuse
|
| |
I don' think that's accurate. His dad did set him up with his girlfriend when Kiedis was 12 though.
RE: the Cher thing, this is from his autobiography:
Around the time my hormones started raging, I had the wonderful experience of being babysat one night by Cher. I was in the eighth grade and still hanging with Sonny and Connie from time to time, and for some reason, they got jammed up, so Cher volunteered to watch me for the night. We camped out in her bedroom, having a heart-to-heart talk for hours on end, really getting to be friends for the first time.
After a while, it was time for bed. Because it was a large house and I might get spooked being alone, Cher let me crash on her bed until Sonny and Connie came to pick me up. In my mind, there was a bit of tension—not that I was going to make any moves on this woman, just the idea that I’d be in bed with such a gorgeous creature. But I thought it was okay because we were friends.
Then Cher got up to go to the bathroom and get ready for bed. It was dark in the bedroom, but it was light in the bathroom, so I watched her take off her clothes, all the while feigning to be on my way to sleep. There was a woman’s naked body, and it was long and slender and special and just thrilling. Not that I had the wherewithal to want some physical relationship with her, but in my mind, it was a stimulating and semi-innocent moment. After she put on her nightgown, she walked back into the room and got into bed. I remember thinking, “This is not bad, lying next to this beautiful lady.”

I read the book and it’s very clear the adolescent drug use and sexual experiences fucked him up which is why he most likely continues the rendezvous with the 400 pound gorilla to this day.

underrated bland

"Double vinyl"...it is 2022 and we measure things in vinyl?
Because in 2022, vinyl is the best selling format by which people own their music. The vast majority of music industry revenue is made by streaming...but for those who actually buy music, vinyl makes more revenue than even digital downloads.
And anyways, we've measured things in vinyl since it became the standard format in the 50s--we still refer to LPs as LPs, and even with CD's, the length that denoted a full album release was 40 minutes, which was about the length of time you could fit on a double-sided vinyl record.
