2017 brings new music from your favourite sad rockers Manchester Orchestra. A Black Mile to the Surface will be released on the 28th of July, boasting an eerie album cover and an 11-song tracklist with a clear theme running through it. In the meantime, hear first single "The Gold" right here, and check the tracklist and artwork on Pitchfork.

Really liking this on first listen, it's always nice when MO get a little softer.

Haven't been on board for a few years but this has me looking forward to the new album.

I approve more on the premise of style than the actual song. As a lead single this didn't impress me but if the whole album departs from the balls-out basic rock of Cope and returns to emotional build ups and quality lyrics then count me on board.

Good song, but I'll always wish they would go back to a Mean Everthing to Nothing type sound. Hyped for the new album anyway.

Honestly can't wait, they played a few songs off the new album in London last week and it's shaping up to be something rather special. There's a combination vibe of Right Away Great Captain, Simple Math, Swiss Army Man and The Dear Hunter running through what I've heard so far!
