Prophets of Rage Unfuck the World

2017-06-03 by DatsNotDaMetulz | 42 Comments
Prophets of Rage, the rap metal group consisting of 3/4 of Rage Against the Machine, 1/3 of Public Enemy and B-Real from Cypress Hill, have released the first track from their upcoming debut full length. The song, "Unfuck the World", has been accompanied by a music video directed by Michael Moore, who previously directed Rage Against the Machine's infamous video for "Sleep Now In The Fire".

It is the second single released by a member of Cypress Hill this week after Poweflo (featuring Sen Dog) released the new video for "Victim of Circumstance" earlier this week.

Prophets of Rage's self titled album is set for release on September 15.

Hey at least it's new material. Probably the best (explicitly) Anti-Trump track I've heard although that's probably not saying much

Censoring it because Sputnik censors cursing in reviews (or at least in soundoffs) and kids visit this site. Otherwise why bother giving the site a swear filter in the first place.

I mean, it's better than anything off that EP at least.

I think it's alright. Not sure if I prefer it over Powerflo's new song but both are alright.

Sen Dog's getting no love on the Powerflo article though.

Oh yeah forgot about YG's FDT, yeah that one's untouchable and undoubtedly the best anti-Donald Trump song

"Censoring it because Sputnik censors cursing in reviews (or at least in soundoffs) and kids visit this site. Otherwise why bother giving the site a swear filter in the first place."

Censoring only occurs in reviews and even then it's easy to edit them back into the review after the initial posting. And considering the swear word is a recurring lyric in the song it's ironic censoring it when the listener is going to be repeatedly exposed to it in the song

tbh, I'm not sure why the content filter is as frustrating as it can be when the album art for "No Love Deep Web" was featured for a good chunk of my time student teaching. But it's an mx-ism and not anything I have any power over.

I wouldn't worry about self-censorship at all.

Edited it then.

And I wouldn't call this dad rock. Most white American dads probably voted Trump.

No cognitive dissonance. They consider everything the GOP stands for part of the machine. Sure, democrats aren't much better, but they aren't gerrymandering or trying to take away gay marriage, abortion, a decent minimum wage, clean energy, civil rights, ethics laws, welfare, medicaid, health insurance, etc. It's pretty clear RATM has always been liberal and in the US sadly the most liberal thing we have is the dems, which are pathetically right wing compared to the rest of the world's centrists.

Always felt chuck d's voice doesn't really fit this project, and that rings true for this single. Not terrible, will definitely check their debut out, because Tom Morello still slays on the guitar.

But the band needs De La Rocha back ASAP, I suppose if it was going to happen it would have happened already though.

the swear filter was stupid and pointless in the first place, as is all censorship.
