New Amplifier album details

UK hard rockers, Amplifier return with Trippin' with Dr. Faustus, an album that has been in the works for the past couple of years. Due out on June 30 on their own Rockosmos label, the LP was recorded on analog tape with the exception of one song, 'Silvio'.

'Kosmos' is the first single to see the light of day and can be listened to below:

Regarding Trippin' with Dr. Faustus, the band detailed: “We spent a long time making this record, principally because it was recorded on a tape machine that we basically had to rebuild from scraps from the dumpster around the back of the mill and whatever bits of debris we could fish out of the Ashton Canal.

“We think you can hear the difference very clearly between what it sounds like to record on tape and what it sounds like to record on the computer – which all our other records were.

“The song Silvio was recorded on computer so you can compare what that sounds like to the rest of the album.”

Their self-titled debut was awesome. Haven't really heard much else otherwise. Premise for this is pretty interesting, gonna have to keep an ear out.

Always nice to hear something from them, especially with Steve Durose around.
Hopefully they can be arsed for a proper tour with decent support acts since their last live performances were in - what, 2015?

Yeah, they haven't played any gigs for a while now. Hopefully, I can catch them live somewhere near.

The song brings some of those early songs vibe, which is great. I really dug Mystoria, but the debut is still their greatest achievement so far.

I beg to differ. The Octopus is their best!

Looks like it might suck, Mystoria was highly meh

I always hoped Echo Street would be the stepping stone to something amazing but sadly they seem to have dropped that more refined sound
