the new guy's a decent harsh vocalist but I'm not fond of his cleans, especially since they're autotuned to shit 99% of the time. the synths also sound noticeably different and more in-your-face than they did on Epsilon (or even anything prior, which I did enjoy as well) and I don't really think it works; it contrasts too harshly against the melodic death metal parts instead of complimenting them and it's distracting as a result (not to mention I'm not a fan of the dubsteppy bits, either). these new songs lack the immediate hooks and melodic sensibilities that I loved about Epsilon and sound way less refined overall to me. they're not terrible, but it's a disappointing step backwards.

Another day, another flavorless song this band churns out. I keep getting less and less convinced that Ryu knows what he's doing.

That didn't really do anything for me, StarGazer is a cool song but that's about the extent of anything I have enjoyed from them.

I think I prefer them female-fronted but I dig these two new tracks. I think a lot of people wrote them off after hearing Nexus, but that was easily the weakest song they've released post-kiki. I'm excited to hear what comes next.
