wtf..... can't believe geoff is gone.... when he said there might be new UN i didn't know he meant it'd be without him...
song is ok i guess
| |
I dig it. Some good lyrics in there.
| |
yeah i like it a little more on second listen
i'm just a huge geoff fan
| |
What a time to be alive.
| |
HYPE
| |
Hail to the king, baby
| |
fuck yeah long live trump
| |
lyrics are meh but i dig the track
| |
any ideas on who the new vocalist is?
| |
that was pretty awesome. new guy sounds like a fucking wolverine in a blender
rickley is the shit but no devotion is a solid project so im glad to hear they'll be doing more
can't beat that first palumbo/rickley combo from the debut though
| |
Rumour is Daryl Palumbo
| |
this is palumbo if you guys didn't know
| |
oh nice
and yeah im hoping we get a new no devotion release this year as debut ruled hard
| |
song rips
| |
Rips (2)
| |
oh man Geoff is gone?? that fucking sucks
| |
edit: nvm
| |
song is aight
Today is a dark fucking day
| |
song's not bad but FUCK Geoff was my favorite thing about this band, his lyrics and vocals were top notch, dude's screams are so fucking vicious
edit: after my initial disappointment and shock learning that Geoff is gone, song's pretty great, the instrumentation rips as usual and Daryl on vocals is pretty sweet
| |
Sounds like Palumbo. Decent tune.
| |
sucks geoff's gone but song still kicks ass
| |
I come back to sputnik to this news. I don't even know how to feel rn.
| |
There's no way this isn't palumbo
| |
Also palumbo had vocals on the debut?
| |
It sucks Geoff isn't in this but on the other hand it means he's doing work with no devotion which rules and that besides this song still fucking slays
| |
kinda cool instrumentally but those vocals suck.
| |
yeah geoff sounded much better than this.
| |
look at all these bad opinions
| |
Now if only Glassjaw actually released new material
| |
They will
| |
sounds like palumbo
fucking rules
| |
yeah i dig the voxs ahrd
| |
gaptoothed post-hardcore legend has left oh shit!!!!
| |
"Now if only Glassjaw actually released new material"
Give it another year, or so. For the song don't know who is doing the vocals, but I like it!
| |
Bummed Geoff is gone, but Daryl is a hell of a replacement.
Also, threw a fiver for this. ACLU and Planned Parenthood are worthy causes.
| |
Pretty obvious singer is Daryl. Song rules
| |
the production on those vocals is pretty bad. They sound so muffled and unclear compared to the rest of the instrumentation that it makes them sound even more yappy and ridiculous.
| |
Also props for using a lyric video for a song id actually need the lyrics for
| |
This is pretty awesome. I think it's Daryl. The production on the vocals could use some work for sure though. They sound kind of trapped. However they are immense.
| |
vocals grew on me, i like them.
| |
Not bad! I'm always excited to hear more from these guys and Daryl. Doesn't quite seem like he has the same pipes that he did on the Our Color Green EP, but that could have a lot to do with the pretty lo-fi vocal production too. Didn't feel like the clean vocals fit so well on this track.
| |
slaps
| |
"Didn't feel like the clean vocals fit so well on this track."
agreed, couldve done without those. also some of the lyrics are pretty ridiculous. yes, Trump can go fuck himself, but it seems to imply that we're having a repeat of Nazi Germany or something along those lines.
| |
Right? Like, there's this idea that electing Trump is America's new low or something, and I find that funny. We've always been up to dumb shit and, as bad as it is, this is far from the worst of it.
| |
Good ole Reaganomics still doing God's work to this day.
| |
rofl all these anti trump jamokes make me laugh, like any of these lyrics or songs are going to change anything hahahaha
| |
go join the pointless riots with all the uneducated
| |
Shucks, and i bet they thought everything would change if they just released one anti-trump song!
| |
rofl all these anti trump jamokes make me laugh, like any of these lyrics or songs are going to change anything hahahaha [2]
| |
Youre both retarded.
| |
as far as i know punk has never been a very friendly environment for fascists, so it's good to see that bands are still trying to carry that torch, even if a lot of them aren't that good >_>
| |
This band is still hella good tho
| |
yeah they are.
| |
yeah. Vox just need fixing.
| |
bummed geoff isn't around anymore but daryl sounds great.
| |
Why make a lyric video when the lyrics are trash and the worst part of the song? Great band though.
| |
Over the top lyrics aside, this song is great.
| |
Has to by Daryl Palumbo.
| |
song is musically p good. missing Geoff tho. lyrics are a nice blend of buzzwords and pure hallucination. interesting to see how different sides can view the same reality as two completely opposite realities while still coexisting. almost as if we are living in some weird computer simulation.
| |
Wait, Daryl hasn't always been in this band?
| |
I think Daryl was only on some songs on the s/t
the more I listen to this song the more I love it
also, Daryl is definitely the vocalist on this song: "Maybe someone who fronts another post-hardcore band you may have enjoyed"
| |
I'LL HOLD MY CHILD'S HEAD UNDERWATER
IF IT'S A BOY, I WAS JOKING
IF IT'S A DAUGHTER, I'LL SAY I DID WHAT I DID
| |
Sounds more like someone from Blood Brothers/Headwound City than palumbo to me tbh
| |
i'm thinking johnny whitney more than daryl yeah but could be wrong
| |
Track is a mad grower fuck i love it
| |
This track is a tremendous dip in quality, and a gross overreaction to current politics.
| |
Daryl has ties with this band which is why it's most likely him
"Track is a mad grower fuck i love it" [2]
| |
lyrics are easily the worst part of the song
| |
Daryl has ties with this band which is why it's most likely him
We don't even know who were all involved with this band
listen to the end of this song

Way better as a protest song than this tune.
| |
Totally, but a stupid comparison
| |
If any of you are seriously doubting this being Palumbo, here https://youtu.be/z1u55wL3s30?t=142
| |
I like this better than most of their last lp
| |
"If any of you are seriously doubting this being Palumbo, here https://youtu.be/z1u55wL3s30?t=142"
yep, the moment you linked here is exactly what I think of when I hear this song
| |
TBH it wouldn't surprise me if the band decided to have a rotating cast of vocalists from now on
| |
band is nothing without Geoff, and crucially, Geoff's lyrics. this sucks
| |
You know most of their lyrics on the first album were written by satirists and comedians right
| |
You know most of their lyrics on the first album were written by satirists and comedians right
aka members of the current punk rock scene
| |
by comparison, it sounds like the lyrics on this song were written by amy schumer
| |
Daryl thinks he's still at summer band camp in '94.
| |
@rowan if these lyrics were written by Amy shumer there would be about 2000% more lyrics about vaginas and spitting vs swallowing
