Everyone is trying to capitalize on Pokémon now that it's supposedly "popular" again.

Normally I'd agree that it's trending, but Issues have been playing this live for at least three years now, and they have full Pokemon guitar cabs and everything. They just finally decided to record a studio version of it.

Don't these bands realize that these sort of covers just illustrate how inauthentic their actual music is?

1. going viral has way more cachet than any sort of exhibition of integrity, you can literally measure yourself with perceived haters now

2. check my 8-bit megaman covers

They probably just did this as a fun spur of the moment idea. I'm no fan but the idea is pretty good marketing.

This is about as cool as the 20 or so dubstep remixes of this theme that came out in 2012.

Yeah VaxXi that always made me wonder, why did so many Pokemon related remixes come out in 2012?

Honestly, Carter is too talented to be doing most of the stuff he does. He'd probably be a lot more successful just making indie pop records and not gimmicky metal-core and cringey Pokemon covers.

But it's his life and his musical direction is definitely... different.
