Normally I'd agree that it's trending, but Issues have been playing this live for at least three years now, and they have full Pokemon guitar cabs and everything. They just finally decided to record a studio version of it.

1. going viral has way more cachet than any sort of exhibition of integrity, you can literally measure yourself with perceived haters now

Honestly, Carter is too talented to be doing most of the stuff he does. He'd probably be a lot more successful just making indie pop records and not gimmicky metal-core and cringey Pokemon covers.

But it's his life and his musical direction is definitely... different.
