English trio Arcane Roots have announced that they will be live-testing new material from their recent studio sessions at an upcoming headlining show in York on July 8. They will subsequently be showing off the freshly recorded songs at the 2000 Trees Festival in Cheltenham.

The group has previously confirmed that its new album will release at some time before the end of 2016.

Aw man, decided to go to Latitude Festival instead of 2000 Trees this year aswell. 2000 Trees is a great festival though.

I'm anxious to see the ratio of singing/screaming on this one. IIRC one of the studio pictures had his neck veins popping like crazy so I assume some heavy shit will still be present.

Heavy would be nice. Heaven and Earth was a solid ep but it did lack in harsh vocals.

On songs like Slow Dance there are actually background harsh vocals where he's screaming his ass off, but you have to pay attention because they're buried in there among the noise. He does those parts live instead of the cleans sometimes so he still obviously has the desire for them.

These guys are incredible. I find it shocking they aren't bigger, but I guess one could say that about a lot of groups.

New song description from someone who saw them live yesterday:

"Starts off light and sung with Andrew on a synth then built into a huge heavy riff (as you'd expect) with screaming. Really looking forward to the new album with that as the first taster of things to come."

Pumped.
